Brian Simerville, MA, ATC, is in his fourth year as an athletic trainer at the United States Naval Academy. He joined the staff in August 2010, and currently serves as the athletic trainer for the men's ice hockey, women's tennis, men's golf, and football programs. He is also responsible for managing the Brigade Sports Complex athletic training room.
Prior to Navy, Simerville spent three years as an associate athletic trainer and rehabilitation coordinator at Florida Southern College in Lakeland. His sport responsibilities included men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming, and softball. Within that time, he also served as an ACI and adjunct faculty in the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program.
Simerville earned his Master of Arts in Exercise Science from the University of South Florida in 2007, where he was appointed the athletic trainer for the men's soccer team. While in Tampa, he functioned as a clinical instructor in the USF CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program, and was the recipient of the 2006-07 USF Athletic Training Graduate Assistant of the Year award.
Born in Detroit, Simerville chose Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti for his undergraduate education. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine & Athletic Training in 2004.
A graduate of Annapolis High School, Simerville currently resides in Annapolis, and is engaged to Kelly McCarver of Port Orange, Florida.
