CASCADE LOCKS, Ore. -- The 2010-11 year ended on a slightly disappointing note for Navy's young group of women that traveled to Cascade Locks, Ore., for the ICSA Women's National Championship.
After a day and a half of racing in the semifinals, Navy finished 13th overall, not quite good enough to advance on to the final round.
"Even though the season ended earlier than our ladies would have hoped, they have much to look forward to, as we were by far the youngest team in the competition," said Navy head coach Ian Burman. "The team also has more to look forward to this year as Navy's seventh-ranked Coed Dinghy team will take the water next week in the main event of the spring nationals. We hope to go out on a high note with a good performance during the next week."
