Offshore Sailing Opens Spring Season with Second-Place Finish

Mids compete at the Southern Collegiate Open Regatta.

Turner had no sailing experience prior to attending USNA. During his time on the team, Viktor has served on a Colgate 26 as a jib/spinnaker trimmer and as skipper, as assistant navigator and offjib/guy trimmer on a Farr 40, and as offjib/guy and mast on a Navy 44. He has also served as Navigator on a Navy 44, including successfully navigating in the Celestial Division of the Marion-Bermuda Race. Viktor has competed in NYYC Race Week, Martha's Vineyard Race Weekend, the Annapolis-Newport Race, and the Marion-Bermuda race. He currently serves as spinnaker trimmer on the NA-24 Gallant. Majoring in physics.
