ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy varsity offshore sailing team had five boats competing in the Annapolis Labor Day Regatta this past Saturday and Sunday. All boats sailed six individual races in two separate classes.

In class A2, senior Brandt Clemons led his crew aboard the Navy 44 Gallant to fifth place of 13 entries while senior Joshua Forgacs led his crew aboard Integrity to sixth place and senior Tyler Martenstein led his crew aboard Defiance to eighth place.

In the J/105 class, junior Andy Bonn skippered Dreadnought to seventh place of 14 entries including a victory in race two. Junior Tom Wester and his team aboard Allegiance finished up just behind Dreadnought in eighth.

This was the first regatta of the fall for the varsity offshore sailing team. Next up for the team is the Spirit Rider Regatta in New York next weekend where the team will have one crew representing us in this 9/11 memorial event.
