Navy Offshore Sailing Report

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy offshore sailing team had two boats competing in the 760-mile Annapolis to Bermuda race which finished last Thursday. Navy's two boats finished first and second in their class and overall. Winning skipper was senior Duncan Mamer. Second place skipper was senior Holland McCabe.
Navy also had three boats compete in the New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta in Newport, Rhode Island over the weekend. Senior Josh Forgacs skippered Constellation to first out of 14 in class in the around-the-island race Friday. Senior Nick Tucker skippered Swift to fifth of 15 in his class and senior Padraig O'Brien skippered Defiance to eighth of 15 in same class.
For the weekend buoy racing, Constellation finished fifth of five in her class while swift was eighth of 10 in her class and Defiance ninth in the same class.
Next up for offshore sailing is the 635-mile Newport to Bermuda Race, which starts this Friday.
