Offshore Sailing Competes at Annapolis Race Week

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy's varsity offshore sailing team had six crews competing in CBYRA Annapolis Race Week over the three day Labor Day weekend. A total of eight races were completed for each class.

In the J/80 class, senior Andy Beeler led his crew to fourth overall of 18 boats.

In handicap class A2, senior Jon Driesslein led his crew aboard Navy 44 Defiance to fifth overall out of 11, senior Nick Padleckas led his crew aboard Navy 44 Gallant to sixth overall and senior John Watkins led his crew aboard Navy 44 Invincible to seventh overall in the same class.

In the J/105 class, junior Nick Tucker led his crew aboard Allegiance to 13th out of 15 and junior Josh Forgacs led his crew aboard Dreadnought to 15th of 15.

Next up for the varsity offshore sailing team is the NASS Race to Oxford and return from September 14-15.
