Oct. 13, 2011

The Navy Offshore Sailing team had two crews competing in the Storm Trysail Club Intercollegiate Invitational Regatta in Larchmont, N.Y., this past weekend, Intercollegiate Sailing's largest regatta in the country.

In the J/44 division, James Chesson and his crew posted a 1,2,5 to take first place in their eight-boat class.

In the IRC 40 division, Dillon Rossiter scored a 2,1,2 to also win their class beating 11 other teams (including Army). Rossiter and crew were also awarded second overall of the 48 total teams competing in the five divisions.

Navy also had three crews entered to compete Saturday in the Annapolis Yacht Club's Fall Series weekend #2 distance race which was unfortunately canceled due to lack of wind.

Next up for Offshore Sailing is the McMillan Cup and the Fall Keelboat Promotional Regattas on October 22-23.
