Nov. 10, 2017

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy rifle team will look to keep its momentum rolling this weekend with a Saturday morning matchup at the University of Akron. In a Great American Rifle Conference competition, the Mids will attempt to improve its team scoring for the third time in four meets, as well as knock off a skilled league opponent. The first shot between the Mids and Zips is set for 8:30 a.m. at the Robert A. Pinn Shooting Range.

Last year, the two teams met a neutral site in Palmyra, Pa. in late January. Shooting shoulder-to-shoulder as part of the 18th Annual Palmyra Invitational, the Mids defeated the Zips, 4,640-4,594. Josh Watson and Kestrel Kuhne led Navy's effort at the meet as both shooters recorded 1,162 aggregate point totals. As a team, the Mids shot a 2,304 in smallbore and a 2,336 in air rifle.
