LONG BEACH, Calif. -- The Navy intercollegiate sailing team sailed a solid regatta this past weekend in Long Beach, Calif., finishing third in the ICSA Eastern Semifinal to qualify for the finals of the ICSA / Gill Coed Dinghy Nationals.

Fickle Santa Ana winds made for an unusual weekend in Southern California, but the Midshipmen found consistency in the deep fleet to place third out of nine Eastern teams. Robert Vann and Alice Hong finished third in A while Clark Hayes, Saverio Maldari and Lukas Edegran were second in the B Division.

The finals will take place in Cascade Locks, Ore., on May 30 - June 1.
