Navy Squash Opens 2014-15 Campaign Friday at Home

Navy will meet Ithaca, Minnesota and Siena for the first time when it opens the season this weekend.

2012-13 (Fr.) -- Opened his collegiate career by pacing Navy, along with fellow freshman Bill Kacergis, with a 27-6 record ... was undefeated at the No. 6 (1-0), No. 7 (9-0) and No. 9 (8-0) flights while also putting together a 9-6 mark at the No. 8 spot ... won the first 20 matches of his career, including five-game decisions against No. 8 Dartmouth (Bayard Kuensell) and #13 Middlebury (Willy Clark) ... suffered the first loss of his career in a 3-1 decision against Penn's Tyler Odell which was his 21st match of the year ... helped Navy defeat Western Ontario for a second straight year by earning a 3-1 victory over the Mustang's Krishan Uwo ... dropped a pair of five-game heart breakers against Columbia during the regular season (Andrew Tan) and at the CSA Team Championship (Alec Goldberg) ... turned in a 2-1 record in his first appearance at the CSA Team Championship ... swept both Caran Arora of Bates and Brown's Charles Lebovitz.

High School -- A 2012 graduate of Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling, N.Y., Bottini was a three-sport athlete who earned letters in squash (4), track & field (4) and soccer (3) ... voted captain of the squash team his senior year and was named the team's MVP ... the recipient of the coaches award in track & field his senior year, he was voted team captain in his final season ... was undefeated in the javelin in the Founders League his senior year ... was among the top five 400-meter runners in the founders League ... served as captain of the soccer team his senior year and was the team's leading scorer ... was a competitive gymnast throughout grade school ... member of the National Honor Society ... was the head of the student senate.
