ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The 15th-ranked Navy squash team pushed its winning streak to six in a row by capturing a 9-0 victory over 25th-ranked Hamilton College on Sunday morning at the Halsey Field House International Squash Courts in Annapolis. The Mids began their winning streak on Jan. 6 with a 9-0 victory over Bowdoin.

Navy’s top two players, Andrew McGuinness (Merion Station, Pa.) and Hunter Bouchard (Greenville, Del.), snapped losing streaks by defeating their Hamilton foes on Sunday.  McGuinness, a freshman, topped Hamilton senior Cooper Veysey, 11-7, 11-6, 11-7, while Bouchard, a junior, took a three-game victory over sophomore Michael Bawden at the No. 2 slot.

While Navy has won six in a row, three players have current winning streaks of seven or more matches, including rookie Hunter Abrams (Wilmington, Del.). Abrams sat out the early part of the season, but since joining the lineup in mid-November, Abrams has put together wins in each of his 11 contests to date.  He has played each of his last five bouts at the No. 4 slot, including taking an 11-7, 12-10, 11-6 win over Hamilton freshman Teddy Black.

Junior Billy Abrams (Wilmington, Del.), the older brother of Hunter, has put together a nine-match winning streak.  He claimed an 11-3, 11-4, 11-4 sweep over Hamilton’s Harry Keeshan.

Meanwhile, winning his seventh-straight match was junior John Richey (West Hartford, Conn.), who scored an 11-7, 8-11, 11-4, 11-3 victory over newcomer Walker Louri at the No. 8 position.

Also picking up wins on Sunday were freshmen Colin Barry (St. Louis, Mo.) (No. 5) and Jim Kacergis (Malvern, Pa.) (No. 3), along with senior team captain John Tracey (Owings Mills, Md.) (No. 7) and second-year standout Hunter Beck (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) (No. 9).

The Mids will be back in action on Tuesday when they play host to 12th-ranked St. Lawrence at the Halsey Field House International Squash Courts beginning at 4:00 pm.
