HAMILTON, N.Y. —  The 13th-ranked Navy squash team improved to 15-0 on the year after taking a pair of 9-0 victories over Hamilton on Friday evening and Colgate on Saturday morning in what was the team’s first road trip of the 2012-13 campaign.

Four players among the nine-man lineup pushed their individual records to 15-0 led by sophomore Andrew McGuinness (Merion Station, Pa.), who is the Mids’ No. 2 player on the ladder.  McGuinness scored an 11-6, 11-7, 11-1 win over Hamilton’s Josh Wolpert and followed up with a 3-0 victory over Colgate’s Sam Brenman on Saturday.

Also boasting a 15-0 record this fall was senior team captain John Richey (West Hartford, Conn.), who stands 83-23 over his four seasons at the Academy.  Hamilton’s Harry Keeshan forced Richey into four games after taking the thid game, 11-7.  Richey, however, took the win with an 11-4 victory in the fourth.  Richey followed up with an 11-5, 11-7, 11-4 win over Colgate’s Nicholas Housden on Saturday morning.

Rookies Bill Kacergis (Malvern, Pa.) and Mitch Bottini (New Hambrug, N.Y.) have a combined 30-0 record this season with Kacergis primarily playing the No. 6 slot, while Bottini filling in at No. 8.

Junior Hunter Beck (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) and sophomore Colin Barry (St. Louis, Mo.) returned to the lineup a week ago after each suffering ankle injuries heading into the season.  Beck improved to 6-0 with wins over Marc Dudzik of Hamilton (11-3, 11-2, 11-5) and Colgate’s Mark Bugas (11-4, 11-3, 11-2).  Barry, meanwhile, is now 5-0 after collecting a 14-12, 11-4, 11-7 win over Hamilton’s Walker Lourie and an 11-4, 11-3, 11-4 victory against William Hunnewell of Colgate.

The Mids home will make the trek back to Annapolis Saturday night and will play host to 15th-ranked Bates on Sunday at 10:00 am at the Halsey Field House International Squash Courts.
