Baseball Visits George Washington on Wednesday

The Navy baseball team will make the short trip to Arlington, Va., to take on George Washington on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Barcroft Park. At 20-23 on the season, Navy enters the game coming off a sweep of Lafayette. George Washington is 15-25 entering its game against Maryland-Eastern Shore on Tuesday.

Midweek Quick Hitters
• In its four-game sweep of Lafayette, Navy produced some of its best offensive numbers of the season ... As a team, the Midshipmen hit .322, which was their highest team batting average for any Patriot League series this season ... Navy outscored the Leopards, 48-9, and belted seven home runs.

Greg Dupell, Andrew Hahn and Kash Manzelli all hit a pair of home runs last weekend ... Dupell now has a team-leading five homers and with a career total of 12, is tied for ninth place on Navy's all-time home run list.

• Manzelli brings a team-high nine-game hitting streak into Wednesday's game at George Washington ... The sophomore first baseman is 14-for-34 (.412) with 13 RBIs over the past nine games.

• In six games last week, the Navy pitching staff combined to allow a total of just 36 hits, including just six extra-base knocks ... The staff posted a team ERA of 2.16 in last week's six games and held opponents to a .207 batting average.

• Navy's 23 triples ranked fourth in the nation when NCAA statistics were released on Monday ... Navy has equaled its triples total from last season and needs seven more to tie the school record of 30, set by the 1995 team.

• The Mids have committed just two errors in their last seven games, bringing their team fielding percentage to .971.

• Dupell leads the Patriot League in RBIs with 40 ... He had a career-high five RBIs in Navy's 21-3 win in game two of Lafayette.

• Senior Josh Moore tied a career high with three RBIs in a 3-for-3 performance in game one of Monday's doubleheader at Lafayette ... Moore was 6-for-12 in the four-game series with the Leopards.

About George Washington
The Colonials' 15-25 overall mark includes a 3-9 record in the Atlantic 10 Conference ... GW has a team batting average of .259 with Stephen Oswald and Brett Bowers leading the team with .321 and .315 averages, respectively ... Oswald's 27 RBIs leads the team ... The pitching staff has an ERA of 4.84 and an opponent batting average of .273 ... The staff has a total of 236 strikeouts and 208 walks ... Entering Tuesday's contest at UMES, the Colonials lost three consecutive to St. Bonaventure and are 2-3 in their last five games ... George Washington went a combined 8-4 against the six common opponents the two teams share, including: Army (1-2), Georgetown (2-1), Towson (2-0), George Mason (1-0), UMBC (2-0) and Maryland (0-1).

The Series
Navy leads the all-time series with George Washington, 26-13. The two programs last met in 2010 as Navy defeated the Colonials, 9-6, in Annapolis.

Navy will host Lehigh on Saturday and Sunday at Max Bishop Stadium in its final regular-season series. Doubleheaders will begin at noon both days and the team will honor its four seniors prior to the start of game one on Saturday.
