Hahn Named Patriot League Player of the Week
May 7, 2012
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy senior outfielder Andrew Hahn was named Patriot League Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office this afternoon. It is the first honor of Hahn's career.
Hahn earned the award by going 4-for-4 and producing six RBIs in Navy's 17-12 win over Coppin State on May 1. It marked the 28th time in the program's 117-year history that a Midshipman recorded it least six RBIs in a game. Prior to Hahn accomplishing the feat, Jeff Bland was the last Mid to pick up six RBIs in a game on April 17, 2010.
Hahn, a native of Ellicott City, Md., had a two-RBI double and two-RBI triple to go along with a pair of RBI singles in the win over Coppin State. Entering play this weekend, Hahn is hitting .247 and has at least one hit in five of the last six games in which he has appeared.
Navy will meet Holy Cross in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals this weekend. The best-of-three series will begin with a doubleheader at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Fitton Field in Worcester, Mass.
