As a Junior
Garcia was one of two players to start all 30 games, ranking fourth in scoring (7.6), second in rebounding (5.4), second in assists (74), third in steals (34) and third in blocked shots (16) ... made a career-high 34 three-pointers on the season ... recorded nine double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 20 points with five three-pointers in an 81-79 win over Bucknell in early February ... in Navy's first win over Bucknell, hit a key late three-pointer and made a huge defensive play setting up Navy's game-winning shot ... opened the season by averaging 13.7 ppg, 7.3 rpg and 1.7 apg while shooting 14-of-23 (.609) from the field in the first three games ... tallied 15 points with seven rebounds and four assists against Elon ... had 16 points with six rebounds vs. Longwood ... had nine assists and seven rebounds in a lopsided win over Towson ... grabbed at least six rebounds 14 times during the year and over the last four games, averaged 7.8 rpg ... recorded an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.45 (74-to-51).

As a Sophomore
Garcia had an injury-plagued sophomore campaign, appearing in just nine games with seven starts ... he averaged 5.2 ppg and 2.9 rpg and had 10 steals, eight blocks and six assists in limited action ... missed the first five games of the season, seeing his first action against NCAA Tournament-bound Radford. He tallied eight points with three steals, two blocks and two rebounds against the Highlanders ... scored a season-high 11 points against Canisius and grabbed seven rebounds at Penn ... then missed 13 more games with an injury to his right hamstring ... came back to play in late February against Holy Cross and Army, but injured the hamstring again against the Black Knights, forcing him to miss the rest of the year.

As a Freshman
Garcia had a fantastic freshman season, earning Patriot League All-Rookie Team honors ... earned the team's Defensive Player of the Year Award at the season-ending banquet ... appeared in 28 games, starting the last 26, while averaging 4.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.2 apg, 0.9 spg and 0.6 bpg in 21.8 minutes per contest while shooting 41.2 percent from the field ... was one of two freshman guards nationally (Arizona State's James Harden) to score 100 points with 100 rebounds, 30 assists, 25 steals and 15 blocked shots ... in league games only, Garcia led the league's freshmen in steals (20) and rebounds (4.2 rpg), was second in assists (18) and blocks (8) and was fourth in scoring (5.2 ppg) ... he ranked in the top 30 among Navy freshmen in scoring (30th), rebounds (16th), assists (23rd), steals (8th) and blocked shots (7th) ... was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Feb. 25, after averaging 9.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg and 2.0 apg in wins over Holy Cross and Army.

High School
Garcia had an outstanding high school career, leading Cypress Creek High School to a 23-12 record as a senior and a Spring Branch Championship ... was a two-time Class 5A all-district player ... earned team MVP honors in 2006 and was the team's top defensive player as a sophomore in 2005 ... averaged 15.3 ppg and 6.7 rpg as a senior ... ranked in the top 100 by in its final 2007 recruiting rankings ... was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America while at Cypress Creek.

Full name is Romeo Garcia III ... born Sept. 25, 1988, in Houston, Texas ... son of Romeo, Jr., and Viola Ney Garcia ... attended the same high school as professional football players Sam Adams (former Texas A&M star) and Josh Williams (former Michigan cornerback) ... is close friends with Texas-San Antonio senior, Devin Gibson, who was the NCAA steals leader as a freshman. The two played on the same AAU team (the Houston Heat), and Gibson was recruited by Lange as well ... also received interest from Army and Air Force ... majoring in political science.
