Stanton had a very good freshman year, playing in all 30 games with 29 starts ... he ranked third on the team in scoring (8.0 ppg) and second in rebounding (3.9 rpg). He also led the team in blocked shots (24), which was the most for a Navy freshman since David Robinson blocked 37 shots in 1984 ... connected on almost 35 percent of his 106 three-point attempts and shot 78.4 percent from the free throw line ... played as the center, after playing as a guard the majority of his career ... scored in double figures eight times, including five of the first 10 games, and then three of the last seven games ... did not start on Senior Night against American, the only game of the year Stanton didn't start ... had a dominant season opener, setting the school record for a player appearing in his first career game with a season-high 17 points (tied with teammate T.J. Topercer). Also grabbed a season-high eight rebounds and blocked a shot and recorded no turnovers or fouls in 36 minutes in the win over Loyola (Md.) (Nov. 10) ... late in the contest with Navy nursing a one-point lead, hit a deep three-pointer as the shot clock was wounding down, then blocked a shot on Loyola's next possession to preserve the four-point margin ... scored 16 points in 23 minutes in a win over Brown (Nov. 14) ... tallied 15 points in a win over Maryland-Eastern Shore (Nov. 21) ... dominated Army in the Star Game win (Feb. 17), scoring 15 points (4-of-4 shooting, all threes) with a career-high four blocks. Two of the four blocks came on Army's first three shots ... tallied 12 points in a loss to NCAA Tournament qualifier Penn (Dec. 7), which was preceded by an 11-point, four-rebound showing against Howard (Dec. 4). The performances earned him Patriot League Rookie of the Week accolades ...tallied 12 points and seven rebounds in a home loss to American (Feb. 20) ... that showing, coupled with a five-point game at Colgate, earned him his second Patriot League Rookie of the Week award ... scored 16 points with two rebounds and a block in the key road win at Lehigh (Feb. 7) ... an outstanding passer, Stanton dished out three assists against Lafayette (Jan. 13), American (Jan. 24) and Holy Cross (Feb. 15) ... dished out two assists in 10 other games ... also grabbed three steals against Lafayette (Jan. 13) ... had a clutch performance against NJIT (Jan. 2).
