First-Year Coach Ed DeChellis Leads Young Navy Team Into Season

Mids to open 2011-12 season Friday at Longwood.

HIGH SCHOOL: Ward-Adams graduated in 2010 from Center Moriches High School, earning three letters as the starting point guard ... spent the last season at the Kiski School, where he lettered in basketball and ran cross country ... led Center Moriches to three Class B Suffolk County Championships ... was an all-state, all-county and All-Long Island selection ... was the co-Long Island Player of the Year in 2009 ... was the 2009 Suffolk County Player of the Year ... is Center Moriches High School's all-time leading scorer ... served as the team captain ... outstanding leader and floor general and is a great ball-handler and passer ... suffered a severely sprained ankle during his senior year that hampered his ability ... averaged 23.5 ppg, 9.3 apg and 4.3 rpg as a junior in 2008-09 and scored over 30 points five times ... as a senior, he averaged 21.1 ppg and 3.3 apg ... was called one of the "Best of Pittsburgh" during his time at the Kiski School ... played in the Suffolk All-Star Game following his senior year ... held offers from Lehigh and Columbia.
