Navy's Gameday Facts
• Navy closes out its non-conference home slate and opens the new year on Friday, January 2, 2009, against Wofford beginning at 7:00 pm. The game will be broadcast on WNAV (1430 AM) and SIRIUS (Channel 91 with Pete Medhurst and Michael Heary calling all the action, beginning at 6:45 pm. The contest will be streamed online as part of the Navy All-Access package at www.navysports.com.
• Navy is looking for its 10th win in non-conference play for only the third time since joining the Patriot League in 1991-92. The 1998-99 and 1999-2000 teams won 11 non-conference games each.
• Navy is 6-0 at home and has won eight straight non-conference home games and 10 of its last 11 in non-conference play at Alumni Hall. Eight of the wins have come by double figures. The Mids are outscoring its foes in Alumni Hall by 10.6 ppg. A win over Wofford would give Navy its first undefeated home non-conference record.
• Navy continues to lead the Patriot League in scoring (74.2 ppg). The Mids have led the league in scoring in three of the four years under head coach Billy Lange.
• Head coach Billy Lange needs just two more wins for 100 career victories. After winning 39 games at the US Merchant Marine Academy and 59 at Navy. He owns a 98-89 record in his seventh year as a head coach.
Kaleo Kina has led Navy in scoring in nine of the last 11 games. In seven of the nine games, Kina has scored at least 20 points. He moved into 14th place on the career scoring list with 1,252 points.
• Navy is 4-0 in games decided by three or fewer points. Since the start of last year, Navy is 6-2 in such games.
• Navy has shot at least 40.0 percent in five of the last seven games.
• Navy also has not allowed an opponent to shoot over 50.0 percent this year. The highest a foe has shot against Navy is 46.0 percent by Towson in the season opener.
Chris Harris and Kaleo Kina are averaging a combined 36.6 ppg. The pair is one of 13 groups to have one player average 20.0 ppg and one average at least 16.0 ppg.
Kaleo Kina has scored in double figures in every game this year and in 16 straight games, dating back to last year.
