ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy Men's Basketball team will be holding a special Rock, Paper, Scissors promotion on Wednesday, February 5th for the game against Boston University.
All fans who arrive at Alumni Hall between 6:15 PM and 6:45 PM can take on Bill the Goat in one round of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Fans who beat Bill will receive FREE admission to the game. Fans who lose to Bill, will have to pay for a full-priced ticket. Full priced tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 18 and under). If you beat Bill and you already have a ticket for Wednesday's game, you will receive a voucher for free admission to a future, regular season game.
Rock, Paper, Scissors is a hand game played between two people, where players simultaneously form one of three shapes with an outstretched hand. The rock beats scissors, the scissors beat paper and the paper beats rock. If both players throw the same shape, the game is replayed.
The game is often used as a choosing method in a way similar to coin flipping, drawing straws, or throwing dice. Unlike truly random selection methods, however, Rock, Paper, Scissors can be played with a degree of skill by recognizing and exploiting non-random behavior in opponents (definition from Wikipedia).
