Lacey Advances to Quarterfinals of Dark Horse Dunker Fan Vote Contest
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy senior forward Tom Lacey has advanced in the Dark Horse Dunker contest and voting is now open for the quarterfinal round. The final spot for the 2018 College Slam Dunk Championship will be awarded to the winner of the Dark Horse Dunker fan vote contest.
Voting for the quarterfinal round is open now through Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 1:00 PM (ET).
Lacey is facing Walker Rickett of NAIA-member Oklahoma City University in the quarterfinal round. Lacey previously advanced past Iona’s TK Edogi in the Round of 16, 62% to 38%.
The Dark Horse Dunker contest is designed to find the country's most electric under-the-radar player with hops and creativity that belongs on the national stage, via a fan vote.
The College Slam Dunk Championship will take place in San Antonio, Texas over Final Four weekend on Thursday, March 29, 2018 and will air live on ESPN2 at 9 PM (ET).
If Lacey advances past Rickett in the quarterfinal round, he will then be up for semifinal voting from March 1-8. The final round will be heled from March 9-16. The winner will be announced on March 16th.
Reminder, fans will only be able to vote once per day, per device. If you have a tablet, smart phone, laptop and desktop, you can vote on all of those, once per day. Once the clock hits 12:01 AM, that will reset and you will be able to vote again for that day.
