Biles Named to Patriot League Men's Basketball Academic Honor Roll

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Naval Academy graduate Ben Biles was recently named to the Patriot League men's basketball Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced recently. Biles was one of 27 players around the league to be named to the squad. Biles, a 2008 graduate from Cramerton, N.C., posted a 3.40 GPA while majoring in economics during the spring semester this last year. On the court, Biles appeared in a career-high 18 games with 10 starts. He averaged 1.7 ppg and 1.7 rpg while shooting 50.0 percent (10-of-20) from the field. He also added four assists, three steals and two blocked shots. He scored a season-high six points with six rebounds in a 73-59 win over Towson on Nov. 29. He also added six rebounds in the season-opening 88-72 win over Longwood on Nov. 9. To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's 16 winter or spring championship sports. The criteria for awarding varsity letters are different at each institution. # GO NAVY # |
