Richards, a rising senior from Stevensville, Md., owns a 3.23 cumulative GPA in ocean engineering. He has been on the Commandant's List four times, including the 2008 spring semester, and on the Dean's List twice. Richards was one of seven Patriot League players named to the list.

On the court, Richards, a 6-8, 235-pound forward, averaged 3.4 ppg and 3.0 rpg in 16.7 minutes per game. He played in 27 games with six starts and shot 50.7 percent (34-of-67) from the field. He added 10 steals, nine assists and one blocked shot. Richards scored a career-high 15 points during his first career start on Nov. 20, 2007, against Canisius, then added a career-best nine rebounds in his next game against Seton Hall on Nov. 23.

Richards will be one of seven returning letterwinners off last year's team that posted a 16-14 overall record and finished second in the Patriot League with a 9-5 mark.
