ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- recently sat down with Navy men's basketball senior captain O.J. Avworo to find out more about the senior from Houston, Texas. Avworo hopes to service select submarines and would have liked to have witnessed the U.S. Independence. Avworo was Navy's second transfer into the basketball program as he transferred from Idaho following the 2006-07 season. Gary Bakken transferred from North Dakota following the 1967-68 season.

In a team-wide vote, Avworo also won the categories of "Player that will be a head coach one day", "The Most Competitive Player" and "The Player That Can Sing The Best".

The Navy men's basketball team will open its season on Monday, Nov. 8, when it travels to Austin, Texas, to face the Longhorns in the 2KSports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. The game will be televised nationally by ESPNU beginning at 9:00 pm (ET).
