Mid-Majority Baller of the Week | PL Player of the Week

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Chris Harris added to his collection of hardware on Tuesday morning as he was named the Mid-Majority Baller of the Week, the website midmajority.com reported. Midmajority.com focuses on nothing but mid-major basketball throughout the country and is widely considered the definitive voice of mid-major basketball nationally.

Harris, a 6-2, 185-pound guard from Mechanicsville, Va., who was named the Patriot League Player of the Week for the second straight time on Monday, averaged 24.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg and 1.7 apg in three Navy games last week, helping the Mids to a 2-1 record, while shooting 20-of-48 from the field, 14-of-32 from three-point range and 19-of-23 from the free throw line. Last Monday, he scored 31 points, his second 30-point game in a three-game stretch, in a 65-62 win over Quinnipiac. He scored his 31st point in dramatic fashion, burying a game-winning three-point shot from near midcourt to give the Mids the thrilling three-point victory. In the win over the Bobcats, he went 8-of-15 from the field, 5-of-10 from three-point range and 10-of-10 from the free throw line, while also contributing three rebounds and three assists.

He then scored 16 points (11 in the second half) of Navy's 73-67 win over Penn last Friday night. He also added a season-high five rebounds and one assist.

Then, in Sunday's loss to George Washington, Harris scored 26 points, grabbed four rebounds and a steal and dished out an assist. He went 8-of-19 from the field, including 7-of-14 from three-point range. The seven three-pointers are tied for the sixth most in school history. With the seven three-pointers, Harris now owns five of the top 13 totals on the single-game three-pointers made list. He has made at least five three-pointers in a game 15 times during his 99-game career.

Harris leads the Patriot League in scoring, and is 20th nationally, with a 21.4 ppg. He has made 25 three-pointers this season, ranking 18th nationally in that category, while his 60 free throws made are the third most in the country. Harris is currently 17th on the school's career scoring list with 1,196 points, second on the career three-pointers made list (225) and is third on the career free throw percentage list (.839). Harris is shooting 88.2 percent (60-of-68) from the free throw line this year, making 60-of-68 attempts.

Harris and his teammates will travel to Maryland-Eastern Shore on Wednesday night for a 7:00 pm tip-off in Princess Anne, Md.
