WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - The Navy heavyweight rowing team put together a complete effort in its final regular season meet as the Mids battled with a trio of programs on a choppy Mercer County Lake on Sunday. Racing against 12th-ranked Columbia, 16th-ranked George Washington and R/V Florida Tech, the eighth-ranked Mids won four of five races, including the highlight varsity eight competition versus Columbia for the Stevenson Cup.

In the race for the Stevenson Cup, the Mids  and Lions were joined by the Colonials and Panthers for a four-team field of varsity eight boats. In a tight contest throughout, Navy held on to win the race and the Cup as it defeated Columbia, 5:42.3 to 5:45.2. GW and Florida Tech finished close behind with times of 5:46.1 and 5:46.9, respectively.

The four programs also faced off in second varsity eight action and once again Navy finished atop the leaderboard. The Mids completed the 2000-m course with a time of 5:53.0, 4.1 seconds ahead of Columbia's 2V8 boat. GW and Florida Tech rounded out the field with results of 6:00.2 and 6:13.4, respectively.
