Lightweight Rowing Wins Three of Four Races on Saturday
Navy won three of four races for the second consecutive week on Saturday.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy lightweight rowing team defeated Georgetown and Delaware in three of four races on Saturday in Annapolis, but took second in the varsity eight race. Navy won the second varsity, first freshman and the fours race.
The Mids started the day on the Severn River with both freshman boats taking the top-two spots in the freshman race. Navy's first freshman crew took first with a time of 6:25.7 and the second freshman boat took second with a time of 6:31.6. Delaware placed third with a 6:35.1.
The first varsity race followed with the Hoyas first across the finish line, clocking a 6:15.8. Navy placed second with a 6:20.5 and Delaware in third with a 6:29.7.
In the four with coxswains race, Navy's two boats placed first and second. The Mids `B' boat placed first with a 7:32.1, while the `A' boat followed with a 7:43.3. Both crews finished well ahead of Georgetown (7:55.34) and Delaware (8:02.9).
In the final race of the day, Navy's second varsity posted a time of 6:26.7 to take first place. The Mids held off Delaware for the top spot as the Blue Hens took second with a time of 6:32.3. The Hoyas just beat the Mids' third varsity boat across the finish line to take third place, 6:36.0-6:37.8.
Navy will host its third and final home race of the spring next weekend when it welcomes Harvard to Annapolis.
