Harvard Lightweight Rowers Defeat Navy
Navy will be back in action at home next weekend.

BOSTON - The Harvard lightweight rowing team took three of four races from Navy on Saturday morning on the Charles River in Boston, Mass. The Crimson have the top-ranked first and second varsity crews, both of which defeated Navy, as did its first freshman boat. Navy won the third varsity race.
Competing in a light rain and windy conditions, Harvard claimed the Haines Trophy for the fifth consecutive season with its win in the first varsity race. The top-ranked Crimson clocked a time of 6:44.3, while Navy posted a 6:54.8.
Harvard took the second varsity race, 6:41.6-6:50.8.
Navy's third varsity picked up the only win of the day as it easily held off the Crimson. Navy won by nearly a 13-second margin, 6:55.7-7:08.3. The Mids' fourth varsity crew also competed in the race, clocking a 7:17.9.
In the first race of the morning, the Harvard freshman crew topped Navy. Harvard's freshman eight turned in a time of 6:44.9, Navy followed with a 6:58.4.
Navy will return to action next Saturday when it hosts Penn on the Severn River in Annapolis.
