Navy's lightweight crew team posted three comfortable victories over Georgetown, Saturday morning on the Severn River.

Navy won the first varsity race by nearly nine seconds, the first novice race by 13 seconds, and the second novice race by just under 20 seconds.

"For our first home race of the season I thought we did a nice job," said Navy lightweight head coach Rob Friedrich. "We had a huge win for our program last week (Navy beat Princeton for the first time since 1980), so I was pleased with how we focused and raced today."

Navy's busy weekend continues Sunday with a race at Rutgers.

"Rutgers is a good team and with us racing today and then traveling, I expect a close race," said Friedrich.

Navy will return to the Severn next Saturday when the Midshipmen play host to Harvard in the Haines Cup.
