ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy lightweight crew rising senior Chad Healy (Ashland, Ore.) has been chosen to serve on the men's lightweight four without coxswain boat for the United States at the 2008 FISA World Rowing Under-23 Championships. A total of 47 people were selected for the 14 crews that will represent the nation on July 17-20 in Brandenburg, Germany.

Healy will team up with Oregon State's John Wainright, Dartmouth's Anthony Fahden and Fordham's David Montani for the international event. At the 2007 World Under-23 Championships in Great Britain, the men's lightweight four without coxswain boat from the United States advanced to the finals and placed 11th overall.

A two-time letterwinner with Navy's lightweight crew team, Healy served in the two seat on the first varsity boat in each of the last-two years. This past spring, he helped the Midshipmen win the Haines Trophy (Harvard), Callow Cup (Penn) and inaugural Murtaugh Cup (Princeton). Navy went on to finish second in the grand final of the IRA Championship last month in Camden, N.J.
