Navy's lightweight crew team enjoyed a strong start to its fall season at last Saturday's Head of the Potomac Regatta in Washington D.C.
Navy claimed three of the top-five places in the open eight competition, as well as two of the top-four places in the four with coxswain race. In the open eight event, the Mids placed second with a time of 14:18.0, third with a 14:19.7 and fourth with a 14:33.0. Navy trailed only Georgetown's top heavyweight boat, which won the race with a time of 14:10.5.
The Midshipmen won the four with coxswain race in a time of 15:21.3, as well as placed third with a time of 16:10.3. Navy's top-two boats each finished ahead of conference-foe Georgetown's entries.
"It was a great start to the fall season," said new Navy lightweight head coach Rob Friedrich.
