ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's heavyweight and lightweight rowing teams will return to the water on Sunday to compete in the Princeton Three-Mile Chase on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J.

The heavyweight team is coming off a strong showing at last weekend's Head of the Charles where the varsity four took third place and the varsity eight placed 12th.

In returning to Lake Carnegie on Sunday, the heavyweights will look to duplicate the success it had at the Princeton Chase last season. The varsity 8+ heavyweight boat posted its best finish ever at the event, placing fourth out of 38 crews and just four seconds off the top time. The freshman boat also performed well, taking second place.

The Navy lights also rowed well last weekend as both the varsity four and eight crews placed in the top seven of their respective races.

The lightweight team will be looking to improve upon last season's performances on Lake Carnegie where the varsity 8+ took eighth out of 29 boats and the varsity 4+ placed 12th.

"This is the final time that we'll be able to see some of our spring competition," said Navy lightweight coach Steve Perry. "We look at this as the big event of the fall and we're excited to see how we do against the field."

Sunday's races will be the last of the fall for both the heavyweight and lightweight varsity boats as only the freshmen will compete next weekend.
