High School / Personal: A 2008 graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School, Eckel attended the Naval Academy Prep School during the 2008-09 academic year ... two-sport standout, he earned letters in football (3) and track & field (6 / 3 each indoor & outdoor) ... two-time (2006, `07) all-city fullback/safety for Archbishop Carroll ... earned first-team all-city and all-county honors in indoor track his senior year ... was also a national qualifier in the 60m event ... qualified for the Junior Olympic National Outdoor Track & Field Championship in 2008 ... also a national qualifier in outdoor track, who was a two-time first-team all-city and all-county sprinter ... was the team MVP in indoor and outdoor track his junior and senior years ... served as team captain of all three teams his senior year ... crowned the 2008 Philadelphia Catholic League 60m champ (indoor) with a time of 6.8, as well as the 100m champ (outdoor) with a mark of 10.6 ... brother, Kyle, was a three-year letterwinner (2002-03-04) for the Navy football team and graduated in 2005 ... he finished his career ranked No. 4 on Navy's all-time rushing leader board with 2,906 yards ... he currently plays for the Philadelphia Eagles ... full name is Kevin Justin Eckel ... born March 3, 1990, in Philadelphia, Pa. ... son of Richard and Maureen Eckel. |
