THE NAVY WIN TODAY ... improved Navy's overall record to 6-3, making the Mids bowl eligible.
... allows the Navy seniors to become the first Navy team ever to participate in four straight bowl games. Navy will play in the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte, N.C., on Dec. 30, against an ACC foe.
... gave Navy's seniors 32 career wins, setting the modern-day record. The overall record is 36 set by the Class of 1909. Navy's seniors are currently third all time behind 1909 (36) and 1908 (34).
... snapped a two-game losing streak overall.
... was the third straight win over Duke and improved Navy's record over Duke to 19-12-5.
... improved Navy's record in true road games in 2006 to 4-0. Since the start of 2003, Navy is 10-6 in true road games.
... improved head coach Paul Johnson to 34-24 in five years at Navy and 96-34 overall.
... improved Paul Johnson to 11-10 in true road games while at Navy and 18-15 in games played away from Annapolis.
... improved Paul Johnson to 3-4 against the ACC, but 3-1 in the last four years. Johnson went 0-3 in his first year (2002).
... improved Johnson to 4-1 in the next game played after the Notre Dame contest, winning four in a row. During the four-game streak, Navy has averaged 38.2 (153 in four games) points per game.
Navy Team Notes
• Navy's 38 points were the fourth most under Johnson against a team from the BCS Conference (UConn - 41 in 2006; Rutgers - 54 in 2004; Northwestern - 40 in 2002).
• Navy won its 23rd straight game when rushing for 300 yards and improved to 26-4 under Johnson when reaching 300 yards ... the Mids ran for 435 yards ... the 435 yards were the 13th most in a single game in school history ... overall, Navy outgained the Blue Devils, 467-294.
• Navy's 435 yards rushing increased its season average to 324.7 yards per game ... after running for 355 yards against Louisville, West Virginia is now averaging 323.5 yards rushing per game, enabling Navy to take over the national lead ... Navy's 435 yards are the fourth most in a single game nationally this year.
• Navy lost three fumbles in a game for the second time in 2006, the other coming against Massachusetts.
• Navy equaled a season high with four rushing touchdowns.
• Navy has just one interception in the last six games.
• Duke's 294 yards were the second fewest Navy has allowed this year (289 by Massachusetts).
• Navy improved to 7-1 when two players run for 100 yards under Johnson, winning seven games in a row ... it was the fourth time this season that two backs have ran for 100 yards ... the four times are the most in school history.
• Navy won its 12th game in a row when leading after three quarters and its 17th straight game when holding foes under 20 points.
• Navy had 275 yards, all on the ground, on 32 plays in the first half.
• In the last two games against Duke, Navy ran for 761 yards on 105 carries, an average of 7.2 yards per carry and 380.5 yards per game.
• Navy went 8-of-14 on third down (.571), the Mids' third-best percentage of the season ... the Navy defense held Duke to just 4-of-12 on third downs, and 1-of-3 on fourth downs.
• Three of Navy's scoring drives were over 10 plays.
• Duke's first drive accounted for 70 yards on five plays ... the Navy defense held the Blue Devils to just 121 yards on 28 for the remainder of the first half.
• Navy's opening drive featured six different ballcarriers and ended in a Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada one-yard touchdown run, his fourth of the season. Sixty-seven of the 72 yards came on running plays ... it marked the first time since the Connecticut game that Navy scored on its opening drive.
• Duke's touchdown on the game's opening drive marked only the third time, and second straight week, a Navy opponent scored on the opening drive. Massachusetts (touchdown) and Notre Dame (field goal) were the other two teams.
• Navy scored on its opening drive of the second half for the sixth time in nine games ... the 19-yard pass from Kaheaku-Enhada to Campbell was Navy's first red-zone passing touchdown this year.
• Navy's first 27 plays of the game were running plays, accounting for 197 yards and three touchdowns.
• Navy now has 16 scoring drives under three minutes, two of them coming against Duke, a 25-yard drive in the first quarter and a 68-yard drive in the second quarter.
• Navy forced a Duke punt on the second drive of the game ... it marked the first time Navy has forced an opponent to punt since the fourth quarter of the Rutgers game ... Reggie Campbell's 44-yard return was Navy's longest of the year and Campbell's first career return.
• Navy's 24 points in the first half were the most in 2006, and the most since scoring 27 points against Colorado State in the Poinsettia Bowl.
• Navy went 5-for-5 in the red zone against the Blue Devils ... it marked the first time all year that Navy scored on all of its red zone attempts.
• Navy ran 30 plays in the third quarter, while Duke ran just four plays ... the 75 plays were the third most in 2006 for Navy, behind only Stanford and East Carolina ... the Navy defense allowed just 55 Duke plays, the fewest for an opponent this year.
• Navy had a season-high 10 players run the ball, and five players ran for at least 30 yards.

Adam Ballard
... one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was his first touchdown run since a 16-yard jaunt against East Carolina in the season opener.
... tallied a four-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. It gave him two touchdowns in a game for the first time this season and second time in his career.
... ran for 103 yards equaling a season high with 27 carries.

Shun White
... scored on a career-long 39-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
... with the run, White surpassed his career high of 49 yards set against East Carolina.
... the touchdown was his third of the season and career.
... ffinished with a career-best 85 yards on five carries.

Tyler Tidwell
... recorded his 13th career sack in the second quarter.
... he is currently third on the Navy career list.

Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada
... recorded a 53-yard run in the second quarter, Navy's longest rush since the Connecticut game, and a career long for Kaheaku-Enhada.
... fumbled three times in the first half, losing two.
... scored three straight Navy touchdowns dating back to the Notre Dame game, all on one-yard runs.
... ran for 119 yards on 14 carries, his first career 100-yard game.
... became the fifth different, and second this year, Navy quarterback under Paul Johnson to run for 100 yards in a game. Marked the first time since 1999 that Navy has had two quarterbacks rush for 100 yards in a game.
... threw his first career touchdown pass, a 19-yard completion to Reggie Campbell, in the third quarter.
... set a career high with 32 passing yards and 151 yards of total offense.

Andrew Tattersall
... blocked a 30-yard field goal in the second quarter.
... it was his second career block, with his first coming last year against Temple.
... it was the first time that Navy had blocked a field goal attempt since Tattersall's block against Temple and first this season.

Reggie Campbell
... went over 1,000 all-purpose yards for the year with 125 all-purpose yards against Duke on just 12 touches.
... caught his fourth career touchdown pass, and second of 2006, in the third quarter.
... it marked the fifth time in 2006 he has gone over 100 all-purpose yards.

Jeromy Miles
... forced his first career fumble in the third quarter.

Rob Caldwell
...recovered his first career fumble in the third quarter.

Tye Adams
... recorded his first and second sacks, and third and fourth of his career, against Duke.
... it was the first time he has recorded more than one sack in a game in his career.
... added another half-tackle for a loss, giving him a career-best 2.5 tackles for a los.
Jeremy McGown
... reorded a season-high 11 tackles against Duke.
