Navy Sophomore Slot Back Demond Brown To Be Master Of Ceremonies At Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast
Jan. 17, 2014
Navy sophomore slot back Demond Brown will be the Master of Ceremonies at the 33rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast on Monday at David S. Jenkins Gymnasium on the campus of Anne Arundel Community College. Doors open at 7:30 AM and breakfast will begin at 8 AM.
Brown, who grew up in Annapolis and went to both Annapolis and Old Mill High School, played in all 13 games this year for the 9-4 Midshipmen and carried the ball 13 times for 220 yards (9.6 yards per carry) and one touchdown, while catching a pair of passes for 45 yards (22.5 yards per catch).
The highlight of Brown’s sophomore campaign came against Service Academy rival Air Force when he took an option pitch 38 yards for a touchdown to give Navy a 14-10 lead in the third quarter. Navy would never relinquish that lead and went on to a 28-10 victory.
Tickets for the breakfast will be available at the door for $35 and proceeds support scholarships and charitable donations.
