Twenty Navy football players (17 current players and three former players) are involved with the Dare To Play Football camp at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium this weekend.
Dare to Play is for individuals with Down syndrome between the ages of 10 and 35, who want to be part of the action. Former All Pro wide receiver and three-time Super Bowl champion Ed McCaffrey, along with the Navy football team and other former and current professional athletes will be on hand to provide expertise, guidance and support during this unique camp that culminates in an actual game this Saturday.
The community is invited to come out and watch the big game on Saturday and stay for the celebration party immediately after. Saturday's camp runs from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM and fans interested in attending should enter Gate 1 off Farragut Road and enter the stadium at Gate O on the Gold (opposite the press box) side. There is also a Dare to Cheer camp coinciding with the football camp.
