Mids Place Four Players On All-American Watch List

ANNAPOLIS, Md.-The Navy football team has four players on the College Football Writers Association of America All-American watch list. Senior quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada (Kapolei, Hawaii) is one of 33 quarterbacks on the list, senior slot back Shun White (Memphis, Tenn.) and senior fullback Eric Kettani (Kirtland, Ohio) are among the 41 running backs on the list and senior guard Anthony Gaskins (West Orange, N.J.) is listed as one of the top 41 linemen in the country. Kettani and White are one of just four sets of teammates on the running backs list. The others are Joe McKnight and Kahlil Bell (Southern Cal), Tony Fiammetta and Delone Carter (Syracuse) and Donald Brown and Andre Dixon (Connecticut). Kaheaku-Enhada carried the ball 180 times for 834 yards and 12 touchdowns last year, while completing 55 of 98 passes for 952 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions. Kaheaku-Enhada enters the 2008 season ranked first in school history in career passing yards per completion (17.1), second in career passing yards per attempt (9.1), second in career total offense per play (5.9), third in lowest career interception percentage (.041), fourth in 100-yard rushing games by a quarterback (six), fifth in points responsible for in a career (210), seventh in career rushing touchdowns (22). White rushed for 620 yards and seven touchdowns last year on just 78 carries. He enters the season averaging a school record 9.4 yards per carry in his career. White rushed for a career-high 131 yards on just seven carries in Navy's epic 74-62 victory over North Texas last fall. Kettani led the Midshipmen in rushing last year with 880 yards and 10 touchdowns on 152 carries (5.8 yards per carry). Kettani is averaging 5.4 yards per carry in his career, the sixth-best average in school history and the best average by a fullback. Kettani rushed for a career-high 126 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries last year against Ball State.
Gaskins anchors an offensive line that has helped Navy lead the nation in rushing an NCAA record three-consecutive years. Last year the Mids averaged a school record 348.8 yards per game on the ground and scored a school record 511 points.
