ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Navy senior fullback Adam Ballard (Lewisville, Texas) has been selected to the 2008 East-West Shrine All-Star Game, which will be played Saturday, January 19 at the University of Houston. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN.

The East-West Shrine Game is the premier All-Star Game in America, and has a long history of distinguished players and coaches in the game.

Ballard, who was ranked in the pre-season as the third-best fullback in the country by The Sporting News, has rushed for 1,460 yards and nine touchdowns in his career. His career average of 5.5 yards per carry ranks fifth all-time at Navy.

Ballard is the 21st player in school history to be selected to the East-West game. Outside linebacker Tyler Tidwell played in the game last year.
