Navy-Air Force Game Sold Out
Sept. 29, 2009
ANNAPOLIS, Md.--Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk announced today that Saturday's football game against Air Force is sold out. Kickoff Saturday is set for 3:30 PM and the game will be televised nationally by CBS College Sports. The school record for attendance at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is 37,970 set last year against Pittsburgh. Navy fans are encouraged to wear their Navy Blue to Saturday's game to help create a "Sea of Blue" in the stadium.
Navy head football coach Ken Niumatalolo is hoping the crowd, and especially the Brigade of Midshipmen, will be a factor in Saturday's game. "It is going to be huge for us. We need our fans to cheer because they like to check to different plays a lot and it is a lot harder to do that if you can't hear the checks. We are hoping the crowd will be a major factor in Saturday's game.," said Niumatalolo.
