Zach Abey Named NAAA Athlete of the Week

ANNAPOLIS, Md.--Zach Abey ran for 214 yards and two touchdowns while throwing for 86 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner to Tyler Carmona (16 yards) with 15 seconds left to give Navy a thrilling 48-45 victory over Air Force. 

Abey had a 75-yard touchdown run with 9:14 left in the third quarter that gave Navy a 38-24 lead and then drove the Mids 75 yards on 11 plays in 1:38 to give the Mids the win.  Abey is currently second in the nation in rushing (174.0 yards per game) and is the first Navy player in school history to rush for more than 100-yards in the first five games of the season.  His two 200-yard rushing games is tied for the most in school history.
 
Navy (5-0, 3-0 in the American Athletic Conference) travels to Memphis (4-1, 1-1) on Saturday in a key AAC West Division showdown. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:45 PM and the game will be televised nationally on ESPNU and broadcast on the Navy Radio Network.
