ANNAPOLIS, Md.-The United States Naval Academy and the University of Maryland have agreed to open up the 2010 football season with a game at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 4.
"The game in 2005 was a memorable event and terrific game," said Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk. "Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and a rematch certainly seems in order. M&T Bank Stadium is a first-class venue and we appreciate the Baltimore Ravens organization and its help in making this game possible.
"This game is special to many Marylanders and we are pleased it will be played in the 2010 season," said Maryland Director of Athletics Deborah A. Yow.
Navy and Maryland last met on the gridiron on Sept. 3, 2005, at M&T Bank Stadium where the Terps defeated the Midshipmen, 23-20, in front of 67,809 fans. Navy leads the all-time series, 14-6.
