Navy Bowl Eligible for The Sixth-Straight Year and For The 14th Time in The Last 15 Years
The Navy football team (6-3) is bowl eligible for the sixth-straight year and for the 14th time in the last 15 years thanks to a 43-40 victory over SMU (6-4) on Saturday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Sophomore quarterback Malcolm Perry rushed for 282 yards and four touchdowns on 33 carries, while kicker J.R. Osborn kicked an 18-yard field goal at time expired to give Navy the win. It was Osborn’s first career attempt of any kind (field goal or extra-point).
The Mids will be part of the American Athletic Conference bowl pool and will find out the location and opponent for their bowl game on Sunday, Dec. 3.
Navy travels to South Bend, Ind. next Saturday to take on No. 3 Notre Dame (8-1) in a 3:30 PM kickoff that will be televised nationally by NBC.
