D.J. Palmore and Micah Thomas Named Second Team All-East

ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Navy senior outside linebacker D.J. Palmore and senior inside linebacker Micah Thomas were named Second Team All-East today by the ECAC.
Penn State’s Saquon Barkley was named the Offensive Player of the year, while Avonte Maddox of Pitt was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Geoff Colllins of Temple was named the Coach of the Year.
The All-East team is made up of players from Army, Navy, Penn State, Pitt, Temple, Boston College, UMass, Maryland, Syracuse, Rutgers and UConn.
Palmore led Navy in tackles for a loss with 11.5 and fumble recoveries with 3. He is third on the team in tackles with 64 stops and second in sacks with 2.5.
Thomas leads the Mids in tackles with 72, including four tackles for a loss and a team-high three interceptions.
Navy (6-5) will play Army (8-3) on Saturday at 3:00 PM in the 118th playing of the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The winner of the game will take home the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy, which is presented each year to the winner of the round-robin football series between Army, Navy and Air Force. Saturday’s game will be broadcast nationally by CBS.
