Navy senior offensive guard John Dowd, senior defensive end Jabaree Tuani and junior linebacker Matt Warrick have been named to the 2011 Football Bowl Subdivision First-Team All-Independent Team by the nationwide media panel responsible for the FBS Independent Player of the Week awards.
 
Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd (Offensive Player of the Year), Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o (Defensive Player of the Year), Notre Dame kick returner George Atkinson III (Special Teams Player of the Year) and BYU wide receiver Ross Apo (Freshman of the Year) received individual honors, while Floyd, Te'o and Atkinson III are also represented on the All-Independent Team.
 
Senior quarterback Kriss Proctor, senior fullback Alexander Teich, senior center Brady DeMell, senior tackle Ryan Basford, junior outside linebacker/safety Tra'ves Bush, junior corner David Sperry and freshman safety Chris Ferguson earned Honorable Mention accolades.
