Fall 2008 - Spring 2009 -- Competed in five tournaments, along with the Army-Navy Star Match in his rookie campaign ... produced a 76.5 stroke average over the course of the year ... turned in a 62nd-place finish behind a 13-over par 155 at the Navy Fall Classic ... picked up a huge victory for the Midshipmen in singles play in the annual Army-Navy Star Match ... turned back Army's Adam Renfroe, 1-up, to capture a point for the Mids en route to a 5.5-5.5 sudden death victory ... saw action in four tournaments during the spring season that was capped off by a sixth-place finish at the conference tournament which in turn rewarded him by being named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year ... his 13-over par 223 was the best finish among the freshmen in the field ... he is the second Navy player in the last three years (Ben Hayes) and third overall to achieve that honor ... his two low rounds of the year were at the Patriot League Championship, shooting his low round over the first 18 holes and the second best in the final round of the 54-hole tournament ... tied for 21st at the Navy Spring Invitational where he produced an 8-over par 150 with back-to-back 75s ... opened the spring by placing 34th at the George Washington Invitational with an 11-over par 155. |
