Morrow Award, presented to Navy's most valuable player ... peaked at the perfect time of year, earning Second-Team All-Patriot League honors thanks to a sixth-place showing at the conference championship ... after shooting a 6-over par 77 in the first round, came back with a 2-under 69 in the second and shot par in the final round to finish 4-over and register his best 54-hole score of 217 ... placed among the top 20 at The Classic at Shelter Harbor to close out fall action ... turned in an 8-over par 150 to place 19th ... opened the year with an 8-over par 150 to finish 31st ... played an instrumental role in the Mids defeating Army in the annual Star Match ... paired up with then-rookie David Hall to score a 2&1 victory over Army team captain Matt Krembel and Ethan Johnson in four-ball action ... meanwhile, his 12-foot birdie shot on the 15th hole against Krembel not only sealed the singles win for Shield, it clinched the team victory for the Mids.

2009-10 (So.) -- Continues to hone his skills as one of Navy's top players ... produced a 77.6 stroke average on the year which featured a pair of top-10 finishes and four top-20 marks ... began the season with a sixth-place finish at the Navy Fall Classic where he finished one stroke under par ... shot a career-low 2-under par 69 in the opening round and paired it up with a 1-over par 72 ... followed up with a 3-over par 145 to place fourth at the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational ... it marked his first collegiate top-five finish ... turned in a 13-over par 229 at the Service Academy Classic to finish 14th ... was 13th over at the Philadelphia Big 5, finishing 44th ... closed out tournament action with a 28th-place finish at the Lincoln Mercury Intercollegiate where he carded a 14-over 158 ... paired up with team captain Michael Harrigan to halve their point against Army's Matt Krembel and Austin Rhymer in the doubles competition of the annual Army-Navy match ... also halved his singles point against William Park ... placed 31st at the spring opener, the Johnny Palmer Invitational, with a 16-over par 160 ... finished 80th at the highly-competitive Charleston Shootout (+35, 251) and 54th at the Navy Spring Invitational (+16, 158) ... closed out the season with a 19th-place finish at the Patriot League Championship where he was 16 over (232).

2008-09 (Fr.) -- Competed in five tournaments over the course of the year, posting one of the best stroke averages (76.4) among his teammates ... Shield placed 24th at the Navy Fall Classic in his only appearance during the fall season ... posted a 7-over par 149 (70-79), anchoring the Navy gray team's 15th-place finish ... shot a personal-best round of 1-under par 70 in his first career tournament ... opened the spring with his first collegiate top-10 finish, a 6-over par 150 at the George Washington Invitational ... shot 6-over par (148) at the Navy Spring Invitational which was good enough for 13th ... one of two Navy freshmen to compete at the Patriot League Championship where he placed 16th with a 20-over par 230 ... opened the league tournament with a 5-over par 75, but struggled to manage the course in the middle round (82) ... came back to score a 3-over par 73 over the final 18 holes.
