CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --  Just a month into his collegiate career, Navy freshman David Hall (Huntersville, N.C.) has been named the Patriot League Golfer of the Month (September) the league office recently announced.  Colgate's Will Delano and Lafayette's Tyler Ostrovsky were also considered for the monthly award.

Hall was the Mids top performer in each of Navy's first two tournaments of the year, while also playing an instrumental role in its 6-5 victory over Army in the annual Army-Navy Star Match held Sept. 25-26 at West Point.  Making his collegiate debut, Hall turned in a 3-under par 139 at the Navy Fall Classic to place fourth and lead the Navy Gold squad to a fourth-place finish among 16 teams competing.  He followed up that performance with a 9-over par 222 at the 54-hole Maryland Intercollegiate where he finished tied for 32nd.  In the final match of the month, he paired up with junior Tim Shield (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich.) to win one of the four four-ball matches in the annual Army-Navy Star Match.  The Hall-Shield duo defeated Army team captain Matt Krembel and his teammate Ethan Johnson, 2 & 1.  Navy went on to win four singles matches on the final day of competition to win the Star Match and claim the second N-Star of the year for Navy.  With three tournaments and a dual match under his belt, Hall owns the second-lowest average on the team with a 74.0.  He has placed in the top five in one of the three tournaments.

The Midshipmen will close out fall action this Saturday and Sunday when they take part in The Classic at Shelter Harbor hosted by the University of Rhode Island in Westerly, R.I.
