COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sophomore Chris Junghans took first place on the pommel horse and Andrew Faulk was named Outstanding Senior at the individual finals of the USAG Collegiate Division Championships on Saturday night in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Junghans, who placed third in the all-around on Friday evening, won the pommel horse on Saturday with a total of 13.7. He also took eighth on the parallel bars at Saturday's individual finals, scoring a 13.15.
Junghans is the first Midshipman to capture a first-place medal at the USAG Championships since Dylan Parrott won the floor exercise and high bar in 2010.
In his final appearance at the USAG Championships, Faulk posted three top-five finishes and competed in five events in Saturday's individual finals. His best event finish on Saturday was on the parallel bars where he scored a 13.95 to take third. Faulk also placed fourth on the rings with a season-high score of 14.7.
Faulk, who won the all-around on Friday, also took fifth on the high bar (13.45) and then seventh in both the floor (13.5) and vault (13.25).
Sophomore Nate Gessner tied his season high score of 14.3 on the vault to take fifth place. Like Faulk in competing at the USAG Championships for the final time, fellow senior Aaron Ingram took seventh place on the high bar with a 13.25.
Navy will be back in action next Friday and Saturday at the ECAC Championships in Philadelphia, Pa.
