COLUMBUS, Ohio - Navy gymnasts Dylan Parrott and Andrew Faulk both competed in their final events of the season at the NCAA Championships on Friday night in Columbus, Ohio. While neither qualified for tomorrow night's final, Friday marked the second consecutive season Parrott competed at the NCAA Championships.

"We really showed our quality tonight," said Navy head coach Dr. Sho Fukushima. "Dylan, who had shoulder surgery in the offseason, gave it his best tonight, as he has all year."

Parrott, the ECAC Gymnastics Co-Senior Athlete of the Year, competed in three events on Friday night. He posted a 15.05 in the floor exercise, which was good for 19th place. The senior from Rockwell, N.C., then scored a 14.5 in the parallel bars and 13.35 on the horizontal bar.

"I would have like to have moved on to tomorrow, but, I'm pretty happy with the way things worked out," said Parrott. "In the floor exercise, I tried to add a few things and it worked out."

Faulk competed in the all-around, where he posted a score of 82.1, which put him in 18th place.

"I thought tonight went well for both of us," said Faulk. "It wasn't perfect, but we competed hard. I let loose on the horizontal bar, and it turned out well, and then was fortune to finish up strong."

Faulk registered a 14.25 on the horizontal bar, while his highest score of the night came in the vault, where he posted a 15.4. The junior scored a 12.05 in the floor exercise, a 13.15 on the pommel horse, a 14.35 on the rings and a 12.9 on the parallel bars to round out his all-around score.

"Now that I've been here, this event - more than any other - drives me," Faulk said, excited about his senior season next year. "It was great to get here and very inspiring."
