Navy Men's Gymnastics Places Fourth at ECAC Championship; Glasgow Wins Parallel Bars

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The 16th-ranked Navy men's gymnastics team placed fourth at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship Saturday with a season-high score of 203.900. On Sunday, team captain Tripp Glasgow (Jr./Orlando, Fla.) won the parallel bars with a score of 8.70 in the individual event finals.

In the all-around competition, Dan Finnegan (Jr./Richmond, Va.) and Joe Brading (So./Sugar Land, Texas) tied for fourth, each posting a score of 51.05. Temple took the top two spots in the all-around led by Richie Maguire (51.70) and Alex Weber (51.60). William and Mary's Pat Fitzgerald placed third (51.350).

UMass claimed the team championship with a score of 208.05 followed by Temple in second (207.200), William and Mary in third (206.500), Navy in fourth (203.900), and Army in fifth (202.900).

On Sunday in the individual event finals, Finnegan tied for second on rings for the second straight year with a score of 9.00 and finished fifth on the high bar with a score of 8.55. David Johnson from Illinois-Chicago won the rings (9.25). On the pommel horse, Finnegan placed ninth (6.35) and Glasgow finished seventh (7.75).

Andy Helchinger (Jr./Stockton, Calif.) tied for eighth on the vault with a score of 8.80.

Brading rounded out Navy's participants in the individual event finals with a 10th place finish on the rings (7.75).

Finnegan and Glasgow earned All-East honors for placing in the top six of the individual event finals.
