Navy Men's Gymnastics' Barker and Langley Earn Academic All-America Honors

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Drew Barker (Fr./Kennewick, Wash.) and Peter Langley (Fr./Miami, Fla.), members of the Navy gymnastics team, were named 2001 All-America Scholar-Athletes by the College Gymnastics Association, it was announced Friday by the CGA.

Barker and Langley were among 45 gymnasts nationwide recogized by the CGA. To be named to the team, scholar-athletes needed to have at least a 3.50 grade point average in addition to earning a minimum NCAA gymnastics score of 8.0 during the 2000-01 academic year. This marks the second consecutive year Navy has had two gymnasts honored by the CGA.

As a team, Navy finished 11th overall with a team GPA of 2.936. Vermont led the way with a 3.398 GPA.
